(Small business websites) The Failure of Many Work at Home Programs

By Joel Booker

Work at home programs have grown in popularity in recent years. You have access to millions of people with access to the Internet. There are hundreds of programs to choose from and millions of everyday people looking to work from home. Why do some work at home programs not work out for subscribers? I don’t claim to be an expert, but from my years on the Internet, experience as owner of a work at home web site; I will try my best to shed some light on this subject.

Every company whether it is an online company or traditional company has people who are unhappy after a purchase. There a more reasons than I can mention in an article on why this happens, but I am going to focus on a few that I have seen as an operator of and online web site. In fact the very thought of this article stems from feedback from users of my web site. Like any online business I sometimes get people who join a program through my site that find it is not a good fit for them.

What causes this to happen?

I have found that most of the time it’s that the customers expectations such as their short-term goals, long-term goals, work expectations and skill sets do not match up with the programs they have joined.

One example of this is a frequent visitor of my site joined a Data Entry program and decided it was not a good match with his particular skill set. He emailed me telling me of his problem. After emailing back and forth I gave him some ideas to think about. He decided to try the rebate program and it was a good match for his skill sets and expectations. He emailed me back stating that he thought it was the best program on the Internet. Others will prefer the Data Entry opportunities to other programs. Makes sense?

What I have found with many programs is that it is very important to match the following criteria between the programs and the subscriber.

1. What income goals you may have?

2. Do you want to simply create some additional income or build and online business?

3. How much extra time do you have?

4. What do you feel are the skill sets that we need to match up?

5. Does the person have the necessary discipline required to work from home, i.e. there is work that will have to be done.

6. Does the person have the patience required, because some programs generate income faster than others, however all programs take some time before getting paid.

You see if these don’t match up then folks will get frustrated and quit. There are more, but these are some of the important ones.

They may get frustrated and quit before achieving success if they are for example in a home based business program rather than a work at home program. Why?

The home business program, in my opinion, will create more income over the long-term and the time required on a weekly basis decreases. The problem is that it takes some time to get an online business up and running and profitable.

Many times people are looking for immediate income. Often time many will do a work at home program for income whilst building their online business. That’s just one example, but my point it is that the more the type of program joined does not match up with the customers expectations, short-term, long-term and financial goals the more there is a chance for failure.

All of the programs will require some effort. If they claim you don’t have to do anything then I would stay away, because it won’t be true. There are plenty of these types of ads that can be seen daily online.

I sometimes get email from subscribers that get matched up with the wrong types of programs and I always try my very best to solve their problem if I can.

No one has a crystal ball and despite whatever research I may do some companies are not what we expect them to be and it’s simply a bad program. We simply have to research as much as possible, revise our sites as needed and move on.

I always encourage visitors of my site to send me feedback as to the programs they join and their suggestions as to what types of programs we can add in the future. It helps me keep my finger on the pulse of the market place and it is one of the criteria I use when deciding whether a particular work at home or home based business opportunity stays on my site or not.

I get a lot of emails on a daily basis. I try my best to answer them all. I always enjoy the ones like the gentleman mentioned above. I may not enjoy the ones as much where a visitor is unhappy, but I appreciate their feedback and I try my best to help them when possible. Thankfully I have not received many of these. I don’t care what anybody says it makes you feel bad when you are unable to help a person that has joined a program using your web site. It sure makes you work harder to ensure you have the best programs you can find.

It is not possible on many of the programs, but I always encourage my visitors to look for the money back guarantee programs when possible. This way if it’s not a good fit you can request a refund. I try to include as many of these types of programs as possible on my site.

It is really gratifying when you can convert an unsuccessful endeavor into success by matching up the customer with the program that is best for them.

Should You Pay to Work at Home?

By Joel Booker

Daily people are surfing the Internet looking for ways to create additional income. Some are looking to make some fast cash, while others hoping to make some money to pay the bills. There are also millions of people that have a desire to replace their day job.

With the stress involved with a simple task like driving to work, sitting in traffic, leaving your kids with someone else or performing the same mundane task daily it’s no wonder people have a burning desire to choose an alternative.

Their are many good Work At Home or Home Based Business opportunities available at a minimal cost. Many of these companies offer an organized approach, step-by-step guidance; help to avoid common mistakes and access to the companies needed to earn money. Can you do many of these things for free? Yes you can, but in my opinion, time is money and these companies often will save you a lot of time in research and common mistakes made by someone new to the work at home arena. Some will say you should not have to pay to work for a company. They are entitled to their opinion and I respect that.

Here is my take on it. If I decide, like I have done many times before, to do a task that I have not done before such as, adding a deck to my house, put new tile in my house, painting, learn a new job function or to learn any other skill I personally will get a book or a tape to aid me in my learning process. I do this because I realize it will save me time and money because it give me a better chance at doing the task correctly, avoiding many mistakes and saving me time in accomplishing the task required. Not only do I feel that avoiding mistakes saves me money, but I feel it allows me to go up the learning curve quicker thereby saving me time and money.

If I were looking at working from home I would ask my self the following questions?

* How much time do I have to Work From Home?

* What skill sets do I have?

* What types of things am I comfortable doing?

* Do I want to make extra money or start a Home Based Business?

* What are my income objectives?

If I answer those questions then I have created what I call my work at home profile. Now my next goal would be what questions do I need answered in regards to the types of work at home companies I might work for. How will I know which ones are scams? How do I know if what they are saying is the truth? Can they really be telling the truth about the task required? Is it really that easy?

This is just a few of the unanswered questions. Now stop and think about this.

If you don’t know the answer to these questions then how much time will it take to do the research? I would venture to say that you could easily spend days to weeks answering these basic questions. This is just a few of the many questions that need to be answered. For example if you are wanting to take online paid surveys to earn cash, wouldn’t it be worth something to determine which of the hundreds of free survey companies would actually pay you cash and not entry into a sweepstakes. Trust me you will find that most don’t pay real cash, but a few do. You could join the hundreds of survey companies and slowly figure it out. Sure you could, but think about the time involved. This is one example of how a survey directory company, which charges a minimal fee could pay for itself in one area alone. This is one example of many.

Now that does not mean that everyone has to agree with me, but it is how I have approached things in my life. It’s what has worked for me. I have always taught myself what I needed to know, whether it was for my job or a project at home. Sometimes it involved taking college courses, while others it meant reading or watching a videotape.

There is good news for you who do not see things the way that I do. I, like many other Work at Home website owners have a page that highlights free work at home opportunities. In my opinion, it will take you longer to make real cash, but it can be done. It will take time and patience. It’s important to have alternatives and I’m glad these companies are available.

Sometimes paid companies will offer rebates, for a limited time, which will pay for their sign up fees. They will often times offer these to work at home web site owners that bring a lot of traffic to them as a bonus. Do your research and look for these, because you can often times get the best of both worlds. I suggest using a website like mine, but not necessarily mine, that has done some research for you or do it your self. I cannot tell you how important it is to do your research and match up your work at home profile. Please feel free to read both this article or one of my many others by visiting my link in the resource box below. I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles or my site. Your feedback is important to me.

Give yourself a chance at improving your lifestyle.

What are Reverse Mortgages?

By Brad Cullipher

Over the past decade, more and more focus in the mortgage world has been given to reverse mortgages. This news, unfortunately, has been primarily negative, showing poor, unsuspecting homeowners losing their homes because of bad mortgage people selling them a bill of goods that they did not completely understand. This is unfortunate though, as the actual program of reverse mortgages was started to help people, not hurt people. There is a huge misconception in the American public of reverse mortgages saying how bad they are, when in all actuality, many people benefit greatly from the use of a reverse mortgage if they fully understand it.

Reverse mortgages can be quit complicated, but simply put, reverse mortgages allow people who either own their home free and clear, or who have tons of equity in their homes, to draw against that equity to make the payments. This does, in the end, result in the bank owning the home, but in many instances, allows elderly people to stay in their homes longer and actually take an income, rather than being forced to leave their homes because they are not earning enough money to pay bills for their basic necessities.

To get all of the details on reverse mortgages, it is of course necessary to talk to a mortgage professional. Some people qualify and some do not, and it is of course necessary to understand the full consequences of such a decision. But for elderly people who want to continue living at home but do not have the money and they do not have anyone they want to leave their homes to in the end, this is a great decision. They may be able to live at home for 20 more years while they age instead of moving out. This allows an elderly person to convert the home equity they may have accrued over many years into a source of cash, which may help them to support their social security income and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Many people can also use a reverse mortgage to take out cash for home repairs. Some people choose to remove a fixed amount from the mortgage, and others choose to take a monthly payment through the use of a reverse mortgage to satisfy their needs.

Reverse mortgage programs are available through both private lenders, and through the government FHA program. Because there are many people out there who have scammed elderly people into making uninformed decisions, it is extremely important to consult with some who you trust, and to get other family members (like your children) involved in this kind of decision. To qualify, you must be over the age of 62 and either have a paid off mortgage or very little left to pay. You also must live in the house as your primary home, and be primarily up to date with other creditors to qualify.

So although reverse mortgages have been given a bad name over the past several years, in the right circumstances, they can be extremely helpful to elderly people, and will allow them to enjoy their late years versus giving up the home they have lived in all of their lives. It is again important to consult with a professional to see about qualifying and applying, as reverse mortgages vary from person to person.
